2008 Dubai World Cup

Dubai World Cup Horse Racing 2008All the talk heading in the Dubai World Cup Betting before the race was whether the Breeders Cup Classic Winner Curlin could repeat that form and take the Worlds Richest Horse Race. A decent looking field of 12 went to post for the race at Nad Al Sheba and the race took place on Saturday 29th March 2008.

In the end it was a straightforward win for Curlin who was simply in a league of his own as he won by a big margin of over 7 lengths from the field. He was asked for an effort with 400m to go and that was the end of the race as the big colt cruised past the early leader Well Armed to take the post with ease.

Asiatic Boy stayed on well to the line but could not cope with the extra speed from Curlin but nevertheless he grabbed a well deserved 2nd place for Mike De Kock. Early Leader Well Armed did really well to hang on in there to claim 3rd and he may well be back for another crack in 2009 fitness and form depending.
